Hi!

Since this is our last year of high school, we have a lot less classes and we have every afternoon free. This gives us a lot of time for our other activities and to hang out with our friends a lot more.
This wendesday me, Mariana and a friend of ours decided to go to Guimarães, a beautiful city in the north of Portugal.

Como este é o nosso último ano de secundário, temos muito menos aulas e temos todas as tardes livres. Isto dá-nos muito tempo para as nossas atividades e para sairmos com os nossos amigos muito mais vezes.
Esta quarta feira eu, a Mariana e uma amiga nossa decidimos ir ao berço da nação, Guimarães.



After taking the train, the subway and the bus, we finally arrived at Guimarães. After doing some things on the local hospital (for a school work) we were starving so we started wandering around looking for somewhere to eat. We found a lot of cute places with food that seemed really tasting, but we were enjoying our walk around the city so we kept on moving.

Depois de apanharmos o comboio, o metro e um autocarro, finalmente chegamos a Guimarães. Depois de fazermos algumas coisas no hospital local (para um trabalho escolar) estávamos esfomeadas por isso começamos a vaguear à procura de algum sítio para lanchar. Encontramos muitos sítios bonitos com comida que parecia muito apetitosa, mas como estávamos a gostar de caminhar pela cidade continuamos a andar.

Guimarães is really beautiful because most houses are completely or partially made of stone. It has a big medieval castle on top of a hill, so you can see it from almost everywhere in the city. It is a really important part of its image.

Guimarães é muito bonito porque a maioria das casas são completamente ou parcialmente feitas de pedra. Tem um grande castelo medieval no topo de uma colina, por isso é possível vê-lo de praticamente qualquer local na cidade. É uma parte muito importante da imagem de Guimarães.





When we finally stopped to eat, we went to a place called Spirito that is well known for its cupcakes, ice creams and coffee beverages. We ordered three different cupcakes: a red velvet cupcake, a passion fruit cupcake and a chocolate one. We also had a lemon and a peach cold tea and a mojito lemonade.

Quando finalmente parámos para comer, fomos à Spirito, que é conhecida pelos seus cupcakes, gelados e bebidas de café. Pedimos três cupcakes diferentes: um de red velvet, um de maracujá e um de chocolate. Para além disso, também pedimos chás frios de limão e pêssego e uma limonada de mojito. 



It was a well spent afternoon in our beautiful country that we think everyone should visit!

Foi uma tarde muito bem passada no nosso lindo país que toda a gente devia visitar, na nossa opinião!
